An Epic couple, wedding, and location

Jaime and Matt was such a cool couple and we had the pleasure of filming their awesome event at the Epic Hotel in Miami. We had a great time filming this event with some familiar photographers that we have worked with in the past and totally grabbed the “feel” of Jaime and & Matt, a very real and casual couple who are just in love! Jaime’s day got a rocky start when the weather changed the plans a bit. The lawn ceremony got canceled due to rain (we were looking forward to shooting out there as much as she was!) and the cocktail hour got moved inside as well….BUT the weather couldn’t stop the WEDDING!!! With the help of the “chuppah groomsman” who held up the chuppah for the ceremony, the couple tied the knot before they dazzled their guests with a beautiful reception.

One aspect of a wedding film that most don’t think about is humor. This couple and film had it. Matt loosened up at the reception just a bit……and we thought, because its probably ”oh so like him” to bring you an extended trailer with a few bonus clips at the end. :) I can just see Jaime and Matt (and most likely any of their friends) getting a kick out of Matt tearing his pants while busting his moves on the dance floor.

Remember that cold, rainy 35 degree Saturday in January?

If you can recall, there was a very cold, very rainy Saturday in January that called for a chance of snow…well that was Melissa and Joe’s wedding day and boy did the weather throw us a curveball! The bride and groom had all the plans to take a bunch of portraits outside on the water, and mother nature just didn’t make that happen! Melissa and Joe were put at ease though when we mentioned that we could do an editorial session for them to get those rockin portraits they deserved! We met Melissa and Joe through another friend’s wedding we photographed and also had worked with their family in the past so we saw some familiar faces at this wedding (and got some good laughs seeing some friends go crazy at the photobooth they had setup there!).  When we do editorial sessions, we have no timelines and cocktail hours to worry about….we encourage our brides to do it if they can (and the 15-20% of them that do get some incredible portraits because of it!) Take a look at the gorgeous imagery we got at the beach from their editorial session that just wasn’t a possibility on the wedding day. The only question now is, what one of those spectacular beach shots do we print as a canvas for our studio!!!!

Mari + Chris - Another Amazing Vizcaya Wedding

Where do I start with this wedding? It was one year ago (almost to the day!) when Andrea and I shot a beautiful destination wedding at Vizcaya Gardens for a couple from LA. That wedding ended up meriting at state competition last year, and was for sure one of our favorites from 2009. It so happened that I was available again on this date to second shoot with Andrea once again this January 2010 at another beautiful destination wedding at Vizcaya Museum and Gardens and once again we think we’ve come away with another award-winning wedding. This time the couple, Mari and Chris, were from Austin, Texas….which ironically we happened to visit last April for a video convention. I brought Andrea along for the 3-day event and it just so happened Mari called a few days before..so I told her I would come to Austin for the consult (she was like what?!…hehe) Well, since Andrea and I were there, Andrea met with Mari who fell in love with our work and we proud to be a part of their wedding this January. Looking at the images below….Mari you might just go crazy! They came out amazing, and Andrea decided to do some extensive pre-touching for you and you have a TON of favorites already pre-selected for your album…..here they are! ENJOY ENJOY! Erin + Ryan - married!

Erin & Ryan finally tied the knot in Stuart before heading over to lovely Tradition Hall in St. Lucie West to celebrate the reception with their guests! Andrea had lots of fun at this wedding, which was organized by planner Cindy Morley, from Eventful Moments. Here are some of Andrea’s fav’s from the day!

New Years Eve Wedding in Key West

Andrea and I made the trip down to good ole’ Key West for an intimate sunset wedding at the great Casa Marina Resort in Key West, FL. Although John seemed a bit quiet during the day (nerves? who knows but I think he was just ready to get married and get the New Years partying started!), Lani was yippy all day and wow was she just a gorgeous bride. Stunning.

The event was planned by one of our new favorite planning companies, Tamara Cohen, from TC Event Design. You can meet Tamara and see more of her at www.tceventdesign.com You couldn’t have asked for a nicer ceremony and the reception ballroom looked fantastic.

We look forward to the occasional Keys weddings a few times a year, and we hadn’t been in Key West for a wedding in year or two so it was nice to end off 2009 at the afterparty at the Hard Rock in Key West with the newlyweds! Congrats Lani……Hey I even beat Alain with your wedding to the blog…wahoo! :)

Sam + Lissette

Just finished up on this beauty from the Spanish Monastery that we filmed in November for this great couple.  We caught some amazing light out back of the Monastery just in time for formals and we caught some truly beautiful footage, what am I saying?…just take a look at the trailer and watch!!! ~ Ryan

Vanessa + Kevin

Talk about a miracle….this beach wedding almost never took place on the beqach due to bad weather all day! I woke up that morning and there was a tornado watch for most of South Florida and I remember thinking there was no way they were having their wedding on the beach. It was raining when we got there, and raining when we left, but somehow it cleared up for about 45 minutes for this fantastic beach wedding to take place. I have to say, I much rather shoot a December beach wedding than a May one…it was beautiful outside. This couple had a lot of fun at their wedding and between the DJ, the cigars, the buffet, the “fun/photo wall”, and everything else that was happening at this party, the guests were having a lot of fun! Christie from Pelican Grand Resort kept did a great job organizing and making sure everything went off without a hitch! Congrats to Kevin and Vanessa!

Brittany + Travis

We had been waiting for months for Brittany and Travis’s long awaited wedding, and just as quick as Christmas approached this year, so did their December 20th wedding! They tied the knot at Crossroads Community Church in Palm City before heading up to the new Port St Lucie Civic Center for all the fun reception events that followed! Andrea knew this couple would just be so much fun photographing based on their e-session where Andrea said the couple was just so “lovey lovey — totally in love!” Brittany is such a sweet girl with so many funny expressions….the last image here says it all! Congrats Brittany and Travis!

Nothing but smiles :)

Our team had the privilege to shoot Andrea and Jason’s wedding in Miami Beach and Fort Lauderdale a few weeks back and we had a lot of fun putting together an amazing film with this couple. They were so nice and smiley all day! :)
